Back to the City is Joburg’s big annual celebration of hip hop and street culture, and it happens right in the heart of Newtown. Mary Fitzgerald Square fills with MCs, dancers, graffiti artists and basketball, with a huge share of the city’s creative energy in one place for the day.
If you’re into street art, dance or music, come for the performances and stay for the walls. Watching a graffiti piece come together over an afternoon is flow state in action.
