For four days in October, Johannesburg turns itself inside out. Design Week South Africa spreads across galleries, studios, hotels, restaurants and shops citywide, with installations, exhibitions, talks, workshops, product launches and collaborations covering architecture, furniture, interiors, fashion, graphic and product design.
This third edition runs under the theme “The Shape of Us”, exploring how cultural identity, history and future-thinking shape South African design. Expect to find work you’d never come across otherwise, and to see your own city differently.
