The Flow State take: One kilometre of running, one brutal station, eight times over. The final HYROX of 2026.
HYROX is the fitness race that’s taken over the world, and Joburg’s May edition was the biggest ever held in Africa, with more than 8,100 athletes. It’s back from 27 to 29 November as the final HYROX of the 2026 season.
The format is simple and brutal: 1km of running, then a functional workout station, eight times over. Think sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer’s carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. Johannesburg’s 1,750m altitude makes it extra tough.
You can race solo, in doubles or as a relay team, with divisions for every level from first-timer to Pro. Spectators are welcome, and the atmosphere is electric. Finishers get the coveted HYROX patch.
